Ray Penn or Tommy Mason Griffin? This debate has been a heated topic ever since the two point guards staged an epic duel at the Pre-Season Super 16. I couldn’t choose one therefore Im going to let you the fans decide! Feel free to post your comments.

Is Tommy the best in the city?

Is Ray the top dog?

I would have to say TMG because of consistency, I didnt know or hear of Ray Penn until after the Vegas tourney then again he went MIA until he squared off with TMG at Super 16. He should win the BreakOut Player of the year award and not be compared to that kid Tommy. Now he’s MIA again. I saw the Super 16 and they went at it hard, 3 for 3 Ray hit the most but Tommy was pulling that ball from that Volleyball line with no remorse for Ray Penn’s incredible in your face D-fense!!!

Penn isnt MIA. He is averaging over 24 pts a game in district and he recently had a 42 point outing as his team is currently in third place in their district. Tommy is also starting to wake up as he has hit two game winners in their last four games.I have a strange feeling that the basketball Gods are going to allow us to see that rematch in the playoffs. Travis vs Madison.

Man you are right so in a highschool fantasy bball league I would have to draft Tommy and I am sure you would too! This site done a feature on tommy go check it out. If ray was a better player the feauture would be done on him lol. Anyway I hope they do square off again because normally when Tommy faces guys who are considered one of the best he always test their immortality. Did you hear about what he done to John Wall(#1 player in country) at Peach Jam during AAU circuit??? Or Junior C.? Ray Penn? I mean when he face these guys he just does work !! We’re not going to talk about how when Brandon Jennings finally got the kurds to hold him in the Houston Vs. Nation tourney he put 9 straight buckets on him, OAK HILL called a timeout and got BJ off of him before tommy destroyed him!!

Mr. Basketball I was at that game and OAK HILL won the war, but during the short and brief battle between BJ and tommy, tommy was victorious!!! I would like to see Ray and Tommy go at it in playoffs

joey brooks
his team is undefeated ranked in the top 10 in the country got nice size and a great attitude, i love Tommy and Ray, but in order to be a leader u must be able to lead, and i think Ray and Tommy have attitude problems, good players, but if they get their attitude together have the potential to be great players

hoophead you must have bumped your head, tommy and neither does ray have attitude prroblems and I would like to know where it is that you’re getting your information from?? ITS OBVIOUS THAT YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO YOUR SOURCE
February 5, 2009 at 8:10 pm |
yeah its true you bumped your head, ACTUALLY TO BE A LEADER YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO FOLLOW! JOEY IS NICE BUT HE’S NOT EVEN THE BEST PLAYER ON HIS TEAM. Relies to much on his jumper or the one he needs to find. He’s built like a College linebacker but he’s probably as strong as a little league cheerleader. I WANT TO SEE HIM BANG AND MOVE PEOPLE AROUND JUST A TAD BIT MORE!!!
February 5, 2009 at 8:12 pm |
BTW, GIVE ME TIM FRASIER OR JAMAAL FENTON OVER RAY PENN ANYDAY! I WANT A GUARD WHO CAN FINISH AROUND THE BASKET, AND AT LEAST ONE GAME OUT THE YEAR MAKE HIS OPPONENTS DOUBLE TEAM HIM OR AT LEAST FACE GUARD!!!

This is funny, number 1 fan its. Clearly that u are bias towards tommy, but anyways if u mention top players why wouldn’t u put a player on their from strake, didn’t they beat madison twice this season, ur comments truely show me that u look at tommy u dnt look at basketball, tommy and ray are the best in houston, they have the most talent, but tell me this why when I talk to coaches around town they dnt even crack their top5
February 6, 2009 at 2:27 pm |
i AM his number 1 fan and I aint afraid to say it! I love basketball period, but my biased opinion towards him speaks for itself! Tim Frasier is in my top but not Joey, he just don’t do it for me! Joey has all the tools but Im not sure why he don’t use them on the court!! As a matter of fact, here is my list for High School right now:
Tommy
Jamaal n Tim(tie)
Mike Davis
Ray
Freshman Phenom at dat Village school
